SPEAKERS

 Brad Ryan, MSc, DVM, MPH MSc, DVM, MPH, Southern California

Dr. Brad Ryan is originally from southeast Ohio where he developed a passion for animal health working with critically endangered species at North America’s largest conservation facility, The Wilds. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Miami University in 2003. He later completed his Master of Science in mammalian biology with distinction from the University of Pretoria in South Africa in 2008, his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016, and his Master of Public Health in veterinary public health from The Ohio State University College of Public Health in 2017. Since graduating from veterinary school he has enjoyed treating patients in small animal and exotic pet hospitals across the United States, and also served as Program Manager for the Smithsonian Global Health Program at the National Zoo in Washington, DC. His professional interests include veterinary public health and abating the spillover of zoonotic diseases from animals to people.

Dr. Ryan currently resides in Palm Desert, CA with his giant schnauzer, Evan. He is an avid outdoorsman who previously thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine and successfully summited Mt. Kilimanjaro. In his spare time, he enjoys exploring the US National Parks, wildlife photography, and international travel.

Jennifer Lopez, DVM, MBA

Dr. Jennifer Lopez began her veterinary career as a technician at the University of Florida in the Dermatology department. Her
passion grew for clinical research and skin diseases, resulting in being published in several journals such as Veterinary Dermatology
and American Veterinary Journal of Research. She then attended St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in Grenada,
the West Indies, where she received her DVM degree. After graduating from veterinary school, she began general practice
in Miami, while continuing her education and receiving her MBA in Multi-Sector Health Management. She then took a position
with VCA as a medical director for a 24-hour, 12 doctor general practice and emergency hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. She loves
to interact with clients and pets, which is why she recently left clinical practice to take on the position of Professional Services
Veterinarian at Antech.
Born and raised in Miami Beach, Florida, Dr. Jennifer Lopez was
raised as a “Florida baby.” Her fur babies include two French
bulldogs, Roxy Razzle Dazzle and King Pickle, and a miniature red
poodle, Clifford. Her hobbies include gardening, cooking, scuba
diving, water sports, traveling, learning the histories and cultures
of the world, and exposing herself to new languages and people.
