Approved for one hour California Statutory CEU
Objective: Attendees will achieve a better understanding of how to differentiate acute dyspnea cases. The speaker will review differences in common cardiomyopathies such as DCM, MVC and HCM and discuss how to treat the complications of the diseases as they progress. In addition, the program will cover the newest ACVIM treatment guidelines and the why and how to use medications for treating these myopathies. Since treating cardiac diseases are challenging for many pet owners, there will be discussion of how to communicate better with these clients, how to understand their perceptions of these diseases and the emotions involved and therefore be able to better recommend solutions that are beneficial to the pet and the client.
