Speakers: Emily Beeler, DVM, MPH, DACVPM & Melissa Jae, DVM, DACVPM

Bio: Dr. Emily Beeler, DVM, MPH, DACVPM works for the Veterinary Public Health Program, with a focus on animal disease surveillance and emerging infectious diseases. Before joining public health in 2005, she worked for 9 years as a small animal general medicine and surgery practitioner in the South Bay area of LA County.

Bio: Dr. Melissa Jae graduated in 2006 from the Atlantic Veterinary College in Canada.  After spending nearly a decade in small animal practice in Hawaii, she found the fulfilling world of shelter medicine and moved to California.  She served as a shelter veterinarian for the City of Los Angeles and the County of San Diego before jumping once again to a different world in vet med.  She has now served as a public health veterinarian for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health since 2018 and become a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine in 2024.
