This celebration of Black excellence, will host discussions around navigating the first 3 years as a veterinary professional. On June 24th we will come together (virtually) for our Juneteenth Summit: Renaissance.

Vet med is full of stressors, not the least of which is transitioning from student life to the “real world”. Come interact with other veterinary professionals and learn from the experts on how to start out strong. How to ask for help. How to show up for yourself.

Meet the Speakers

Renee Machel is a nationally recognized motivational speaker. She is the co-founder of Get MotiVETed LLC, a company that provides wellbeing solutions for veterinary professionals and organizations. Renee is a Veterinary Business Management Association (VBMA) approved Speaker and has presented at NC State University, Tuskegee University CVM, Purdue University, NC Association of Minority Veterinarians, and NC A&T State University Pre-vet Club

Dr. Addie Reinhard is the Founder and CEO of MentorVet, a rapidly growing entity that leverages evidence-based approaches to empower individuals to thrive within veterinary medicine. She is a veterinary wellbeing researcher, and her research focuses on developing and evaluating innovative interventions to support mental health and wellbeing within the veterinary profession. She is on the research team for the Merck Animal Health Veterinary Wellbeing Study. In 2021, she completed a master’s degree in Community and Leadership Development and a Graduate Certificate in College Teaching and Learning from the University of Kentucky and holds a certificate in Veterinary Human Support from the University of Tennessee. She is also a certified QPR instructor.
