Speaker: Nancy Park-Dorner, VMD, CVA, DACVO
Bio: Dr. Nancy Park-Dorner, originally from the suburbs of New York City, pursued her passion for veterinary ophthalmology following her education at Cornell University, where she earned a B.S. in Biology, and the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine, where she obtained her Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) degree. Her career led her to internships at VCA West Los Angeles and Eye Care for Animals in Culver City, Tustin, and Las Vegas, before completing a residency at Chicagoland Eye Care for Animals. Drawn back to the West Coast, she settled in Los Angeles as a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist. During her residency, she adopted Red, a six-year-old blind Red Doberman, whose journey with prostate cancer inspired her to integrate Eastern therapies from the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine alongside conventional treatments. Red’s remarkable quality of life underlines Dr. Park-Dorner’s belief in the synergy of Eastern and Western medicine, allowing him to thrive comfortably for three additional years beyond his prognosis.
