Identification and Treatment of Arrhythmias
The objective of this lecture is to review causes and diagnosis of common arrhythmias and to discuss both emergency treatment of life-threatening arrhythmias as well as long-term outpatient treatment options.

Speaker: Dr. Caroline Sloan, DVM, MS, DACVIM (Cardiology)
Dr. Caroline Quinn Sloan obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Pepperdine University and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of California, Davis. She then went on to earn her Masters in Clinical Science while at Colorado State University, Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
Dr. Sloan completed a small animal rotating internship at VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital and a residency in cardiology at Colorado State University, VTH. Dr. Sloan has achieved Diplomate status with the American College Veterinary Internal Medicine in Cardiology. She is a board-certified veterinary cardiologist.
Dr. Sloan worked for a year as an emergency veterinarian at VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center in Lawndale, California. She also volunteered with Mercer Veterinary Clinic for the Homeless and an SPCA Spay/Neuter Clinic.
Dr. Sloan has a special interest in congenital heart disease. She also enjoys management of congestive heart failure and establishing long-term relationships with her patients and their families. In spare time, Dr. Sloan enjoys sailing and surfing.
