Allergies are complicated. Currently, there’s no specific test to diagnose allergies, and there’s no perfect test. To make matters more complicated, there is an array of allergy tests available on the market. At this symposium, we will help by finding the best way for you to diagnose allergies and understand the methodologies of those allergy tests, thereby aiding you in formulating the most efficient allergen specific immunotherapy for your patients.

Objectives:

  • The most common allergies seen in practice
  • How to properly diagnose cutaneous adverse food reactions
  • Review immunology of atopic dermatitis and how it relates to an intradermal skin test
  • Learn the history of serum allergy testing and how it has progressed
  • Understand the methodologies of currently available commercial serum allergy tests in the market
  • Understand the proper use of serum allergy testing
