Lecture Topic: Screening for Exposure to Tick-borne Pathogens: The SNAP® 4Dx® Plus Test and the Veterinarian in One Health
Veterinarians can play a significant role in protecting people and pets from serious tick-borne illnesses. Screening the canine population for exposure to ticks and tick-borne pathogens alerts the veterinarian to the level of risk for disease development in pets and their owners. It also allows an opportunity to discuss how owners can reduce risk of exposure and potential for the development of clinical disease.
