Bio: Dr. Jose De Jesus Ruiz Romero (DVM, MS, Internal Medicine Residency trained) is a Clinical Nutrition Resident at MASH Outpatient. After earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2019, Dr. Ruiz completed a one-year rotating internship at a private specialty practice in Orange County, California, and was then accepted into a combined Small Animal Internal Medicine residency and a Master’s degree program at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign College of Veterinary Medicine. During his Internal Medicine training program, Dr. Ruiz recognized the significant role that nutrition played in disease management and wanted to expand his knowledge of Clinical Nutrition.
