What’s new in canine mitral valve disease
This discussion summarizes the new 2019 ACVIM Consensus Guidelines for mitral valve disease in congestive heart failure dogs, and an overview of the new science, diagnoses, management and treatment.

SPEAKER: DR. NORA GRANT – Dr Grant earned her DVM degree from Auburn University and has worked in
mixed animal practices in CO and TX, and small animal general practice in AL. Dr Grant owned and managed a
feline exclusive practice for 20 years. She worked as an industry veterinarian for Bayer Animal Health for 5 years,
and now with Ceva Animal Health for the last 7 years. Dr Grant is the past president of the Emergency Animal
Clinic of Birmingham, a member of AAFP serving on the Cat Friendly Task Force Advisory Council, American
Heartworm Society, and AVMA. Dr Grant has led presentations at veterinary schools, state and local VMA
meetings, including VMX, WVC and AAFP. CE presentation topics have included Fear Free, Dermatology,
Ectoparasiticides, Heartworm, and Cardiology.
