The SCVMA Education and Scholarship Foundation (501-c-3) was incorporated in 2015 to provide student scholarships and continuing education programs. In 2025, the foundation was expanded to offer resources, grants, and scholarships to improve animal and human welfare. The new and improved foundation is now called the Southern California Veterinary Medical Foundation.
Active Events
In order to help the veterinary community recover and get back to fully serving their communities, the SCVMF offers grant funding for veterinary professionals impacted by the fires. The Veterinary Practice Disaster Relief Grant provides reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses incurred while caring for injured or displaced animals or for expenses resulting from damage from the fires. The Disaster Emergency Expense Grant reimburses for expenses incurred for necessities (food, clothing, temporary shelter) immediately following the fires.

What we do…
All contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible to the extent of the law (Tax ID: 47-5548078). The SCVMA funds a variety of programs including student scholarships, educational programs, and reimbursement of disaster expenses.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
SCVMF educational scholarships were created to help Southern California residents who are currently enrolled in AVMA-accredited College of Veterinary Medicine (in California) or RVT programs (based in California) receive financial assistance.
